Network
The London Metropolitan Network (LMN) core has three Points of Presence (PoPs), located at University of London Computer Centre (ULCC), Imperial College London and King's College London. The PoPs are connected by two protected 10Gbps circuits, with the capability to expand to eight 10Gbps as required. The resilient connections to SuperJANET5 at ULCC and Imperial PoPs are at 20Gbps.
There are 40 Higher Education Institutions (HEI), 55 Further Education Colleges (FEC), 28 Adult and Community Learning Colleges within the M25 connected to LMN at bandwidths between 10Mbps and 10Gbps. LMN also connects a number of educationally related organisations such as museums and charities.
The arrangements which LMN has negotiated with our suppliers can provide cost effective, high bandwidth connections between campuses for our membership.
