Existing Services

LMN already offers a range of services for its members, but we’re always looking to build on the capabilities of the network. The network backup and email filtering services currently save the LMN community 70% on the standard price and represents a total saving of £2.5 million.

Connecting to LMN
Should your organisation or associates require direct Internet because of your commercial activities, we can still provide connectivity at speeds ranging from 2Mbps to 1Gbps via our dedicated interconnectivity with Verizon. LMN can offer 35% discount on Internet connectivity for the LMN community. For more details, contact us.

JISC funded connections
LMN is funded by the JISC through JANET(UK) to provide standard primary connections to Higher and Further education institutions. When you become a LMN member, we can also offer you higher bandwidths, resilient and load-sharing connections. Just ask.

Seminars, training and workshops
At LMN, we organise and run a wide-ranging programme of events focusing on technical and managerial issues. From mobile computing to business continuity, from email filtering to spam prevention and video streaming, we can help you understand the benefits of your connection. Further information

Networked backup and restore
In partnership with InTechnology plc (ITO), LMN offers a cost effective backup solution for both Microsoft and Unix environments. Data is held offsite at ITO's data centre which is accessed through a dedicated link between their network and LMN. There is no need for a separate link between your site and ITO. This service already serves 20% of the LMN. Further information

Email filtering
In partnership with Message Labs, LMN offers its members a cost effective way of dealing with unwanted email traffic that impedes an organisation's network and helps to prevent significant risks to information and reputation.

Accurate and consistent filtering of unwanted traffic at internet level is the most efficient means of managing the risk of unwanted traffic and reducing the costs of managing spyware, spam, viruses, pornography and expressing acceptable usage policies. MessageLabs is employed to secure the internet communication of 11000 organisations worldwide and is used by over 10% of the LMN community. Further information

IT DISPOSAL
LMN secured highly discounted service for secure and green disposal of IT equipment with eol IT services that:

- Complies with WEEE directive legislation-Provides fully integrated managed 27x4 service
-Offers savings of around 20% for LMN members via the unique LMN business model
