New services have been introduced to support the secure and efficient
operation of the IT infrastructure that underpins all research and teaching
in the LMN community.
Archiving
LMN is investigating a cost effective solution for an archiving
facility that will enable long term storage and retrieval of operationally

LMN and ULCC are piloting podcasting as a means of a communication and content management medium with LMN member institutions. Further Information
FRAIM
LMN will evaluate FRAIM (The Framework for Resource Access & Identity Management).
FRAIM helps to create a more secure, manageable process, not only for the delivery of services to users, students and staff, but also for student enrolment.
FRAIM has been adopted by a number of large universities, including Kingston University and The University of Westminster.
IPTV
LMN is piloting IPTV main channel broadcasting via the JANET network for halls of residence and recreational areas
WIRELESS
LMN memebr instituion SOAS is piloting a BTopenzone model to allow access within the institution and for external visitors/conferences
